Geology Transfer Info

One of the most important things you can do once you decide to become a Geology Major is to meet with one of our advisors. They can assist you in planning your academic schedule while at SBCC, in choosing a 4-year school to transfer to, outline potential career choices, or direct you to resources that you may need.

Use your advisor. Drop in on any of the faculty members listed below at least once a semester to let him or her know how you are getting along and what your plans are for next semester.

UCSB Earth Sciences Transfer Paths - Major Preparation Outline

To be admitted to as an Earth Sciences major, students must complete all Pre-Major Requirements with a GPA of at least 2.3. Once Pre-Major Requirements are met, a student is eligible to become a full major at UCSB.  Additional courses that are required as Preparation for the Major, and may be taken at SBCC, are also outlined here by emphasis. Preparation for the Major courses are not required to become an Earth Sciences major, but are required to complete an Earth Sciences degree at UCSB.
